Director of Operations, The United Arc:

A Portion of the Director of Operations Job Responsibilities:

· Ensures that all state and federal regulations are in practice and oversees the Quality Enhancement review process.

· Ensures that an internal quality assessment review of programs is completed and that the quality of service provided meets or exceeds state and federal standards.

· Involved in the implementation of consistent financial policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.

· Approves major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.

· Oversees and reports on the organization’s results to Board of Directors.

· Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of site staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.

· Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff by promoting a creative and supportive work culture throughout the organization.

· Create and maintain a positive work environment that helps to improve staff engagement.

· Effectively advocate on the part of those being served by The United Arc, those employed by The United Arc, and for the organization itself.

· Ensure a Preventive Maintenance Plan for all facilities, including timelines for inspections, maintenance and replacement of systems, equipment, appliances and furnishings is in place and utilized.

· Establish a Preventive Maintenance Plan/Capital Improvement Plan for all facilities, including timelines for replacement of roofs, siding, windows and other long-term facility needs.

· Ensure there is an inventory of all equipment and furnishings owned, used or leased, including a tracking mechanism for change of location and a depreciation/replacement plan with timelines.

· Oversee the Certificate of Insurance program, ensuring that proof of insurance is secured for all contracted work for our facilities.

· Oversee the bid process, ensuring the sufficient number of bids are secured for all planned contracted work for our facilities.

· Help to prioritize maintenance tasks and projects, directing staff as necessary and determining work to be performed by in-house staff or outside vendors/contractors.

· Establish a schedule for assigned staff and oversee an on-call system for nontraditional business hour response to maintenance issues.

· Oversee all aspects of the organization’s electronic network including, but not limited to, the internal and external electronic mail systems, voice mail systems, computer communications, backup systems and data processing systems consisting of hardware, software running or installed on these systems, and all data files or displays stored on these systems, ensuring they are used only in the conduct of the organization’s business.

· Ensure the proper maintenance of hardware associated with the electronic network, including servers, desktop computers, laptops and other networked equipment, making recommendations for repair or replacement as necessary.

· Ensure the proper maintenance of all software and applications associated with the electronic network, making recommendations for changes or upgrades as necessary.

· Ensure the proper maintenance of all hardware and systems associated with communications, including landlines, cell phones and other related equipment or services, making recommendations for repair or replacement as necessary.

· Oversee all security systems, electronic, manual or staffed, to ensure the safety and security of our physical plants, business operations and records.

· Develop, maintain and oversee web-based marketing and promotional materials and venues, including organization’s website, social media and other vehicles for promotion, fund raising and community education.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, Master’s Degree preferred, or 5+ years of management experience in an operational environment

· A working knowledge of the Non-Profit setting is helpful.

· HR Certification desired or three years of experience within the field of Human Resources

· Advanced knowledge of Information Technology

· Aware of Massachusetts DDS regulations and DCF, DMH guidelines and practices

· Experience with the Massachusetts Department of Quality Enhancement

Family and Youth Services Case Worker For Youth Transition:

Family and Youth Services Case Worker For Youth Transition – The United Arc, a leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Berkshire and Worcester counties of Massachusetts is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to provide support services to our local at risk youth population with primary concern for health and safety of individuals and/or families being served, compliance with state and federal regulations, licensing and contracts to ensure quality program and service delivery, safety and security, respect for human rights, care coordination, and community relations. In this position, staff is responsible for maintaining an ongoing caseload of youth ranging from 10 to 22 years. Primary responsibilities are to provide mentorship, guidance and support to the youth that we serve, while maintaining a professional and supportive relationship with our funder(s). We strive to make a difference in the lives of our local youth and help them work towards becoming healthy, happy and successful members of the community.

Minimum Qualifications –

· Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in Human Services or 2 years of experience in a related field.

· Experience working with youth, particularly those in the at risk population.

· Knowledge of the Department of Children and Families or child welfare.

· Ability to work independently.

· Demonstrated relationship/interpersonal skills.

· Ability to attend to multiple details within a multi-faceted environment and with diverse populations.

· Demonstrated knowledge of computers and computer software applications.

· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

· Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and access to an automobile.

· Comfortable driving to new places and transporting youth/clients in your personal vehicle.

Family and Youth Services Case Worker:

Family and Youth Services Case Worker – The United Arc, a leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Berkshire and Worcester counties of Massachusetts is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented individual to provide in-home Parent Education and case management for parents living with a functional limitation. The position also includes supervising parent-child visits and facilitation of parent education groups as needed. There will be primary concern for health and safety of individuals and/or families being served, compliance with state and federal regulations, licensing and contracts to ensure quality program and service delivery, safety and security, respect for human rights, care coordination, and community relations. These positions are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a starting rate of $16.50 per hour. Openings in our Turners Falls, Holyoke, Pittsfield, and Athol Offices.

Minimum Qualifications –

· Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in Social Work, Human Services or related discipline or Minimum two years’ experience working with families and individuals with special needs.

Direct Support Professional – The United Arc, headquartered in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, which provides services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in Franklin, Hampshire, Hampden, Worcester and Berkshire Counties of Massachusetts, is seeking dynamic and team-oriented individuals to provide services for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in individual’s own homes. Staff in these positions will assist the individuals we serve to have as much control as possible over his/her home, provide assistance in various areas including health maintenance, money management, shopping, cooking, ADL skills, socialization, establishing meaningful relationships and community involvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma / GED.

· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

· Acceptable driving record, valid driver’s license and access to an automobile that can be used to transport individuals.

· Acceptable CORI and fingerprint check required.
